How to get FFL License in Idaho (ID)?

• Not have been dishonorably discharged from the military.
• No pending criminal charges.

Step 2: State Requirements

The good news is that unlike many other states, Idaho does not have a specific state license for gun dealers. These are always just redundant to an FFL and usually serve to make money for the state and annoy decent FFL holders trying to deal with even more regulation.

Your Idaho FFL won’t do you much good without inventory and supplies. The gun industry tends to distribute guns and ammo through large distributors who can efficiently handle large volumes of merchandise all at once and distribute it from a central point. Gun manufacturers tend to prefer to deal in massive wholesale transactions, rather than a bunch of little sales to FFL holders.

However, not all distributors will do business with all FFL holders. Some require a brick and mortar  storefront and refuse to do business with home based FFL holders, regardless of their sales volume. Others require large minimum purchases, or a certain volume of sales. And naturally limited run or high demand guns never seem to trickle down to the little dealers from these kinds of distributors.
