The No nonsense, Non NFA 14 inch scatterguns

What is a Short Barreled Shotgun?

Traditionally, a shotgun has to have a barrel longer than 18 inches. Any shorter and it is considered to be a short barreled shotgun (SBS), or Any Other Weapon (AOW). In either case, they fall under the purview of the National Firearms Act (NFA) and are title 2 weapons. Civilian ownership of a title 2 weapon requires registration, a tax stamp, a bit of paperwork, and a (long) wait to be approved.

What do you mean Firearm?

I keep saying firearm as if it is its own classification of gun. In a way it is, but it’s …

Gun Sales increased in January FFL123

Do you know what keeps happening every month? New and record breaking gun sales. According to the FBI, January 2021 was the single highest recorded sales for guns in the US, with over 4.3 million NICS background checks performed.

Many industry leaders expect the demand to continue over the next several months and perhaps further into 2021 as social disruption and fears of radical gun control and confiscation continue to grow. Guns and ammo are backordered for months and inventory seems to move as fast as it arrives.

In fact, this is all so much old news at this point. We …

Straw purchase

Straw purchase. Two words that to those who know what it means conjures up images of felony charges, criminal activity, and possibly a bunch of annoying ATF auditors all up in your books. But not everyone knows what a straw purchase is, what it means, and how to deal with it.

So what is a straw purchase? Simply put, a straw purchase is when one person buys a gun for another person who is not allowed to own a gun. It is a way for a person who is not prohibited from owning a gun to get a gun to somebody …

FFL At Wholesale Prices FFL123

Just about every single item sold by every single store everywhere in the world was purchased from a wholesaler, had the price marked up, and then sold to the consumer for retail prices. This includes firearms, which are purchased from gun wholesalers and then sold in your local gun shop.

Having your own home based FFL allows you to take advantage of the price breaks that come with purchasing wholesale firearms.

It could be a new release that’s hard to find; maybe an importer brought in a small batch from overseas; or a manufacturer did a small, limited run for a single …

Will Biden Doom Us All

On January 20th, Joe Biden will be inaugurated the 46th President of the United States. He will have a democrat majority congress, and an urge to engage in progressive left wing politics in order to differentiate himself from Trump, and appease his support base who have spent the last four years feeling oppressed and victimized in the midst of one of the greatest economies the world has ever seen, and during a time when the US engaged in no new foreign wars.

Part of this progressive agenda always includes gun control. To the progressive mind, we must dismantle law enforcement because …

FFL is Easy to Get - FFL123

You might think that the process to get your Federal Firearms License is long, drawn out, and expensive – but you’d be wrong, and we’re here to prove it to you. After all, we wouldn’t be FFL123.com if that weren’t the case, right?

Determining Federal Eligibility

The first step in getting your FFL is making sure you’re eligible and meet the necessary requirements. Essentially, if you can legally buy a gun, then you can more than likely get an FFL. People who do not meet the requirements are referred to by the ATF as a “prohibited person.”

A “prohibited person” is someone who:

Can an FFL Buy a Gun Anywhere in the US

The short answer to this question is yes. An FFL can buy a gun anywhere in the United States. However, as with anything that involves the Federal government and firearms, there are some caveats.

Atf backing down? - FFL123

One of the great universal constants of life is that the ATF cannot be trusted to be consistent. Or at times even trusted – just ask the children at Waco. With that in mind, the ATF has changed their position on pistol wrist braces so many times, that it is almost pointless to write about them. We recently wrote about the plan to place many braced equipped guns on the NFA registry.  However, the ATF suddenly reversed their position on December 23, 2020, by withdrawing their attempts to formulate a rule concerning pistol braces which would have placed …

things to do to cope with biden presidncy

Barring some sort of wild change, it is certain at the time of this writing, that Joe Biden will be the 46th President of the United States. It is also certain that he has loudly campaigned on the sort of tiresome gun control that Democrats have bitterly clung to since the early 1990’s. In fact, his efforts are so tiresome, so repetitive, and so predictable as to not bear repeating here, although they can be summed up as a senile old man muttering worn out talking points of another generation in between sniffing the hair of children.

By now, gun owners …
